Respiratory Education Centre

The goal of the Respiratory Education Centre is to help you, with the support of your physician, gain and maintain control of your chronic lung disease, or achieve the best results with the least amount of medication.

At the Respiratory Education Centre you will receive individual counseling and asthma/COPD management education from a Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator. Breathing tests may also be performed during the appointment.

Referral Process

There is a referral process in order to visit the Respiratory Education Centre. Once a referral has been received by the Respiratory Education Centre at St. Paul’s you will be provided with an appointment with the Respiratory Therapist/Educator.  The Respiratory Therapist/Educator will perform pulmonary function testing, provide you with the education about your disease and progression, teach you how to prevent episodes of shortness of breath and make recommendations for additional resources.
